Soulja Boy Responds to Ice-T

Posted on 01 July 2008

Ice-T called Soulja Boy’s music “garbage”, especially when compared to the best of hip hop from his era, Rakim & Co.. Soulja Boy, after about 10 minutes of stand-up, responds sincerely with a defense of his hustle. Better father/son disfunctionality than Jerry Springer, not as good as Bill Cosby on Tavis Smiley.

Personally we like the sincere affections of “Soldia Girl”, but “Superman” is middle-school childishness. Doesn’t mean he didn’t have a nice beat though. Besides, Ice, he’s right. You became famous for rapping “F* the Pigs” and 30 years later you’re playing one on TV. There’s some irony in that, isn’t there?
