According to Thailand’s The Nation newspaper, “
Democrat Party figure Theptai Senapong claimed he was informed that Thaksin was seen in Cambodia recently.”

The troubles in Thailand continue unabated and may reach a dangerous breaking point tomorrow as ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has called on his followers to stage a major protest tomorrow in defiance of the current government headed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.  It’s the red shirts (Thaksin) versus the Royalists (in yellow).  Thailand’s current Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya is warning Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen, that if indeed Mr. Thaksin is operating and communicating with his followers via video hook up from within Cambodia, the “ties with Thailand will certainly have problems,” he said.

Update 4.07.09

Cambodian government spokesman denies ousted former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been in Cambodia.

“The Thai side heard some wrong information about Thaksin. They got the rumor about the presence of Thaksin in Cambodia. Thaksin actually didn’t have any presence in our country,” said Phay Siphan, secretary of state and spokesman of the Council of Ministers, according to Xinhua news agency.

For anything that he did, Thaksin could observe his own country’s law and the international law, the news site quoted Mr. Siphan as saying.

“In addition, Thailand could not order Cambodia to do this or that, because Cambodia was independent, had its sovereignty and could make any decision by itself,” he added.
